The island in the middle of the Lake is the resting place of that most beautiful lady- Princess Diana. It was also her home for many years prior to meeting Prince Charles. The house and grounds are a true country retreat and well worth your valuable time.

Lovely place to shop great shops for all gifts especially Alfie’s ark for animal lovers or darceys for sweets ,lovely food available at tea rooms ,all in all a great place to visit.

There has been an Abbey on the site for over 900 years, so as you can imagine, the place is dripping with history which is documented as you tour the building. The building is a mish mash of architecture from different eras, which only adds to the interest. There are also activities for younger children to do whilst walking around.

Several, more well known, tourist towns advertise their town halls. Few can equal the fabulous building Northampton maintains to a high standard. The interior celebrates an amazing succession of town mayors, it’s architecture is striking and in a courtyard are statues of famous local people. This is a fine example of civic pride at its best. Well worth a couple of hours to explore.
